Insider Expert Knowledge

As I followed a 1969 Chevrolet this afternoon, I immediately thought about where the gas goes into this car. I think you pull the license plate down on the back, et voila! This was all part of the insider expert knowledge I acquired while pumping gas as a teenager at Whitley's Esso in Brockville, Ontario. As gas jockeys, we competed to see who knew where the gas tank fill hole was (some were hard to find), how to find the oil dipstick, how to clean a windshield with virtually no streaks, how to get a big tip. We took our job seriously. And, as a girl in a traditionally male field, I needed to find the fill hole and the oil stick extra fast in order to instill confidence in the driver, and get a big tip! I know that other professions have similar "insider expert knowledge" that only the insiders know about, and compete over. I'd love to hear about your experiences!

Am I a web addict?

I've been worried lately about the amount of time I spend on-line. I'm on-line all the time for my profession - I'm a marketing coach specializing in email marketing - but I find myself spending many more hours on-line surfing infinite amounts of information about a multitude of subjects that interest me. I share tidbits that I find amusing with friends and colleagues often enough that I thinking it's time to share my "finds" on my blog. So I started my blog. That way, I can share and document the really, REALLY cool information and fun I find on-line.
